In the heart of Jarenina, in the beautifully restored building of the former Jarenina Elementary School, now stands the Alfi Nipič Museum.
The central part of the museum is the permanent exhibition “Ostal bom muzikant”, which charmingly tells the story of Nipič’s remarkable career. From his humble beginnings as a young musician to his rise to the starry heights of Slovenian folk and popular music, the exhibition reveals the man behind the melodies that have delighted listeners for generations.

Visitors can walk through the golden age of Slovenian music and relive Nipič’s triumphs on the popular show Popevka vesele jeseni, his unforgettable performance of the song “Silvestrski poljub”, and his fruitful collaboration with the legendary Avsenik Brothers Ensemble.
The exhibition goes beyond the stage, offering a deeper look into Nipič’s life offstage as well. It presents his extensive international tours, the many awards and honors that mark his career, and the special place he holds in the hearts of Slovenians as a beloved icon and honorary citizen of the Municipality of Pesnica.

The museum experience is enriched by a diverse collection of exhibits, including photographs, posters, audio and video recordings, newspaper articles, books, and personal items such as gold records, medals, awards, plaques, and traditional attire. Above the museum is a multipurpose hall in the attic, which serves as a lively stage for folk and other musical performances, keeping Nipič’s musical legacy alive through music and cultural events.
The permanent exhibition was set up under the professional guidance of the Museum of National Liberation Maribor, underscoring the importance of preserving Nipič’s heritage as an essential part of Slovenian cultural history. The renovation of the building and the establishment of the museum were made possible by the Municipality of Pesnica and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Slovenia, while the Tourist Association Ovtar Jarenina oversees the programs and events at the museum.
